Katie is a photographer based in the UK. Her work explores the relationship between movement, memory, and adventure. Through her creative practice, she documents journeys across natural environments. Whether hiking through mountains or documenting surfers in the open water, these experiences are captured as visual records of memories and as reflections on how physical movement shapes understanding of place.

Katie's background in Fashion Communication and Fine Art lead her to have influences from both the fashion and art world which leaves traces of trend driven narratives and artistically driven concepts in her work. On her undergraduate course she produced two outdoor magazines in her final projects which is where she found her passion for photographing the outdoors as a full concept rather than as just a hobby.

 

She then went on to do her Master’s degree in Fine Art which was a route to discover more about her work and develop her artistic practice further. Her practice is rooted in paying attention to interactions between person and environment - the way the light shifts across terrain, how water responds to motion, and how landscapes reveal themselves through slow observation.

 

The act of moving through these spaces is central to her work; it is both the catalyst and the subject. By framing these journeys through imagery, she conveys physicality and memory of movement through the natural world.​ Katie invites the viewer to consider their own engagement with adventure. Each photograph becomes a reflection of presence and memory, leaving behind marks of human activity. ​
